Mission statment and goals

So, this blog is about me building my worlds and involving you. "What is worldbuilding and why am I involved in it?" You say. Well world buildin is something that writers do, the figuring out of your setting, geography, history, language and slang, food, culture, backstory and reasons for what happens in your story and and how it things work, what is allowed and what is not, keeping a consistancey to what you say. This can be as little as a floor plan for a house and a family in-joke and recipe or as big as a thousand year history with a galactic map with world maps for each planet, in depth elvolutionary histories for each race and several fictional languages fleshed out in full.
World building is especially important for science fiction and fantasy writing and is key for most role-playing games either on the devoloping end or the playing end. This is becuase in SF/F their are almost by definitons either significant differneces between the story and reality or their are things that currantly don't exist that you need to explain. Also, you need a culture in the future and it's probably not going to be like today. World buildin helps you figure out what contrains of the story is and everything planned out so you don't have to come up with a word for technology on the spot. It's basically a massive form of pre-writing.
I am making this blog becuase I have started lots of worlds during class in my notebooks, I want to have some accountability and feedback.
